Stocking swap further progress

Have made it 2/3 of the way around the candle. So I still need to finish appliqueing it on, the put the beads on for the flame, and the beads on the upper cuff. The sew it all together and put some goodies into it and send if off Monday morning.
I hope Lori likes and that it will be worth her wait. I feel bad that it has taken me so long to get it done.
I still have the other swap piece to get finished that was due around the same time as Lori's. Have no clue what I was thinking when I thought I could do that much in that length of time. Bipolar manics can lead to some real havoc after one comes off that manic and has to try to accomplish what they agreed to do.
Maybe by keeping a blog I can keep better track of what I have got going on and not get into this type of mess again.

I love my handwork, but it is not as much fun when I am under pressure of time.

Stocking swap in progress

The candle is now complete. All I need to do now is applique it to the stocking, put the beads at the top of the stocking and sew it together and it can be sent on its way. Wish I could have gotten it out when it was due, but life does have a way of getting in the way sometimes. Better late than never. Sorry Lori it has taken me so long. I hope it is worth the wait though.

"Glass Slippers"

Decorative pin cushions, that I made about three years ago. I used the plastic ornamental shoes I found in the bridal accessories section of the crafts department at Walmart.
Made little cushions and hot clued them into the shoes. I used the tiny gold pins for the pins in the cushions, and a variety of other elements for designs.

Heralding Angel on Velvet

This piece was done on velvet. The wings and trumpet are beaded. The banner is one inch by one inch. All stitches are split stitch done to look like the short and long style of the satin stitch. This I have found works better because it is less likely to snag, yet it looks like it was done in satin stitch. This was the first time I had done this comprehensive of a pattern with both thred and beads. I love the intricate detail of the banner, and have plans to do something like it again (when my back burner projects get caught up....lol, does that ever happen?) but not sure what design I am going to use.

My roommates consider me OCD because I work on things that are so detailed. I will post pics gradually and you can decide for yourselves if you agree with them. (Personally, I tend to ...uh.....ah heck..... I agree with them--sometimes.)
